Fern Cottage dates back to 1750 and is set in two acres of conservation land, with extensive panoramic countryside views from all rooms. Only 15 minutes drive from the cities of Bristol and Bath, it is an ideal location for sightseeing around the South West, including Lacock, Castle Combe, Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Dyrham Park, Tyntesfield, Tetbury, Longleat, Slimbridge, Stonehenge, the Cotswold Villages or a visit to the Thermae Bath Spa.  We also offer 10% discount on the Thermae Spa tickets.

The accommodation is all en-suite located at ground floor level.  Three rooms are situated in the stable block and one room at the rear of the house, all have their own entrance doors separate from the main house.  Two rooms have king size beds. All furnished to a high standard with Laura Ashley fabrics and luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets. 

As a registered smallholding, Fern Cottage Bed & Breakfast grows its own fruit and vegetables organically. We feel extremely proud to have won 17 Awards for hospitality, food, our service and sustainability over the last 5 years and have recently been awarded “Bed & Breakfast of the Year 2010” from the Bristol Hospitality Awards and “Finalist” in the “Excellence in Tourism Awards” out of 6 counties and 300 entrants for 2010/2011.

Enjoy the beautiful views across fields and the twinkling lights. All rooms are doubles with en-suites and all have lovely views. There is seating outside all the rooms, in the wildlife field or in the garden.

If you are planning a weekend away sightseeing, it's ideally situated in a greenbelt/conservation area between the two cities of Bath and Bristol. The centre of Bath is just 15 minutes away by car or give your car a rest and take the nearby Lansdown Park and Ride bus service - its cheaper than parking in Bath. Relax in Bath’s Thermae Spa or visit some local attractions like Westonbirt Arboretum at Tetbury, Tyntesfield House, Dyrham Park, Bristol Harbourside, the SS Great Britain, the Cotswolds, Longleat, Cheddar, Salisbury, Stonehenge or the pretty villages of Lacock and Castle Combe.
